The new playground in Finsbury is now complete, however, the play space will remain closed for a period to allow the grass surface to establish.
There is a separate ancillary works contract which is still in progress on site in the park.
These works include:
1. Improvements to add seating, cycle parking, drinking water fountain, and reinstatement of the wall at Finsbury Park estate.
2. Widening and resurfacing of the main path through the park.
3. Cleaning of existing gullies, and improvements to the drainage along the path.
4. An additional paved area with picnic tables adjacent to the play space.
5. A new connection path leading to Weston Park.
The DLR cleansing section were on site today to sweep the paths to remove the build up of muck that arose during the works to date, so the paths through the park should be in an improved condition again for pedestrians, although there will continue to be some inconvenience while the ancillary works continue.
